Efficiency rhymes with SiC
With our iE Convert devices, you get maximum efficiency at system level. The secret is our groundbreaking silicon carbide (SiC) semiconductor technology. Its unique characteristics, for example higher junction temperatures than IGBT designs, give you high performance and low energy loss.
iE Convert devices only lose around 3-4% of the converted energy as heat, around half of what you can expect with IGBT designs, and their efficiency curve is almost flat at different load factors. You maximise the output from your energy source, minimise the need for cooling, and drive down energy consumption in your application.


Pure, grid-ready energy

With an iE Convert, you get grid-ready energy with very low harmonics. Additional filters or capacitors will only rarely be needed because the SiC technology can achieve high switching frequencies that transform electrical energy very accurately, reducing ripple and harmonics and enabling faster control.
If you are converting DC to AC, for example, the sine wave of the output energy is very regular with low interference – and you can feed this high-quality output energy directly to the grid. And the pure output energy prevents noise and harmonics from disturbing other energy sources.

With the high efficiency and switching performance of the iE Convert, and the built-in filters, you will rarely need more equipment to condition the output energy before use. And that means you can design compact and light power conversion systems.
Compared to IGBT designs, an iE Convert powered solution requires 60% less space than a typical IGBT design, and it weighs 30 to 40%. That energy density is great news when you are working with crowded ship engine rooms or tight BESS designs.

Keep up peak power production anywhere
The SiC wafers offer high temperature performance, and iE Convert devices will operate in ambient temperatures from -20 to +70 degrees Celsius. As a result, you can maintain peak power production for longer, even in harsh environments.
