The iE Convert series offers a unique combination of high switching frequencies and galvanic isolation that makes it highly useful in many scenarios. Here are some examples of what you can use iE Convert devices for:

  • An Active Front End (AFE) AC/DC converter that converts energy between AC and DC, for example to charge or discharge a BESS (battery energy storage system) from diesel gensets, export power to the grid, or produce hydrogen from renewable sources such as PV parks. You can use the converter in grid-connected or standalone (off-grid/island) scenarios.
  • A DC/AC drive that powers pumps, cranes, or other variable-speed machinery from a DC source such as a battery. It provides regenerative capability for improved overall system efficiency. Being based on AFE, the DC/AC drive also provides higher efficiency and lower harmonics than drives with passive or active filters.
  • A buck-boost DC/DC converter that handles DC level shifts. It steps down DC voltage from the bus or grid (or another DC source such as a fuel cell) for charging a battery or steps up energy, for example to boost the voltage level from a solar panel or discharge a battery.
  • A buck-boost DC/DC converter with galvanic isolation that you can use to integrate a fuel cell or other DC power source in your system whilst also isolating it to prevent stray currents.
